E119

E119 — Low Primary Water Pressure

Baxi · Duo-tec Combi ErP Boilers

What does E119 mean?

This code indicates that the primary central heating system water pressure is too low, below 0.5 bar. The display shows 'E1' alternating with '19'. The boiler will not operate safely until the pressure is topped up.

Common Causes

  • Insufficient water in the heating system.
  • System leak.
  • Water pressure switch not detecting correct pressure.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Check the pressure gauge on the boiler (aim for 1.0-1.5 bar when cold, as shown on page 28).

  2. 2

Locate the filling loop (usually a silver braided hose with two valves) and open both valves to slowly repressurise the system.

  3. 3

Stop filling when the pressure gauge reads between 1.0 and 1.5 bar.

  4. 4

Close both valves on the filling loop and disconnect it if it's external.

  5. 5

If the pressure drops again soon, check for visible leaks and contact a qualified engineer.
