E55/E53 — PCB not calibrated or set up after replacement

What does E55/E53 mean?

This message appears on the boiler display immediately after a new PCB (Printed Circuit Board) has been installed. It indicates that the board needs to be configured with the correct settings for your boiler's gas type and hydraulic system.

  • New PCB installed but not yet configured.
  • Incorrect Easy Key Service replacement procedure followed.
  • PCB not properly reading its configuration.

    Press and hold the plus (+) and minus (-) buttons together for about 6 seconds until 'P01' appears.

  2. 2

    Use the plus (+) or minus (-) button to scroll to parameter 'P02' and ensure its value matches your gas type (0 for Natural Gas, 1 for LPG).

  3. 3

    Press the 'OK' button to save the P02 value (the parameter will blink).

  4. 4

    Scroll to parameter 'P03' and set its value according to your hydraulic system type (e.g., 0 for instantaneous combi, 5 for external tank).

  5. 5

    Press the 'OK' button to save the P03 value and complete the configuration.

  6. 6

    Switch off the boiler and make sure the unit is unplugged, then verify the Easy Key is correctly replaced on the PCB.
