EC

EC - Internal fault (Internal program sequence or mains voltage failure)

Buderus · Logamax Plus GB062 Boiler

What does EC mean?

This is a general internal fault, indicating a problem within the boiler's program sequence or an issue with the main electrical voltage supply. It can prevent the boiler from operating.

Common Causes

  • Temporary internal program error or mains voltage fluctuation
  • Loose or damaged ignition cable connection
  • Incorrect O2/CO adjustment (combustion settings)
  • Damage on safety valve (gas valve) or its connection cable
  • Defective electronic board (PCB)

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

If the error code is blinking, reset the boiler by pressing the RESET button and restarting it. Observe if the error clears.

  2. 2

Switch off the boiler and check if the ignition cable connection is loose or damaged. If so, fix or change the cable and connection. Then, switch the boiler back on.

  3. 3

Switch off the boiler and cut the main voltage supply. Check for any damage on the safety valve (gas valve) or its connection cable. If damaged, change the connection cable.

  4. 4

If all previous steps fail and the error persists, the electronic board (PCB) might be defective. Turn off the boiler and cut the main voltage supply before any further action.
