Buderus · Logamax plus GB142 Boilers

What does Flashing Error Code mean?

When a fault occurs, an error code will flash on and off on the BC10 basic controller display. This indicates that the boiler is experiencing an issue preventing normal operation.

Common Causes

  • Temporary system malfunction
  • Internal component issue or sensor error
  • External condition affecting boiler operation

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Note the specific flashing error message displayed on the BC10 controller, as this information is helpful if you need to contact service.

  2. 2

Press and hold the "Reset" button (labeled 2 in Fig. 1 on page 10) for approximately 5 seconds until the display shows "rE".

  3. 3

After the reset, check if the display returns to a normal operation message, indicating the fault has been cleared.

  4. 4

If the error code reappears after the first reset, repeat the reset procedure two or three more times.

  5. 5

If the fault persists, cannot be reset, or reappears frequently, contact your heating equipment service company with the noted error code.

  6. 6

If the boiler is shut down due to a fault, ensure the heating system is protected from frost damage, especially in cold weather.
