F20

F20 - Communication error with surface element controller (ESEC)

Electrolux · Induction Range

What does F20 mean?

The oven controller is unable to communicate with the surface element controller (ESEC). This could be due to a lack of power to the ESEC board or a faulty communication link.

Common Causes

  • ESEC User Interface Board (UIB) is not powered on
  • Faulty 120VAC or low voltage supply to ESEC
  • Bad communication link between oven controller and ESEC UIB
  • Faulty ESEC UIB board

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Check if the ESEC User Interface Board (UIB) is powered on (surface element displays should show something). If not, check 120VAC to the ESEC power supply board and low voltage supply to ESEC UIB.

  2. 2

Check connections and continuity between connector P2 on the oven controller and P9 on the ESEC User Interface Board (this is the communication link).

  3. 3

If the above steps do not resolve the problem, replace the ESEC UIB board.
