Error 88 — Maintenance required before clearing code

¿Qué significa 88 ?

This error code indicates that certain maintenance tasks, such as flushing the heat exchanger or replacing a water filter, should be completed before attempting to clear the code. The unit will not operate normally until this is done.

• Heat exchanger requires flushing
• Water filter needs replacement

   Perform recommended maintenance like flushing the heat exchanger.

   Replace the water treatment filter if applicable.

   Turn off gas and water supply to the water heater.

   Press the DOWN button until the lowest temperature setting appears on the display.

   Press and hold both the DOWN and UP buttons for 5 to 10 seconds.

6. 6

   Turn the gas and water supply back on.
