F3 - Outdoor Ambient Temperature Sensor Error

What does F3 mean?

An F3 error indicates a problem with the outdoor ambient temperature sensor. The system cannot get a valid reading from this sensor, which is necessary for proper operation. The ODU main board LED will show this error.

Common Causes

  • Poor contact between the ambient temperature sensor and the main board terminal
  • Ambient temperature sensor is abnormal
  • Detecting circuit is abnormal

    Check if the outdoor ambient temperature sensor is correctly inserted into the main board socket.

  2. 2

    Inspect the terminal connection between the main board and the sensor for looseness or foreign objects. Tighten or clean if necessary.

  3. 3

    Disconnect the sensor and measure its resistance (refer to Appendix 1 for temperature-resistance relation).

  4. 4

    Replace the ambient temperature sensor if it is abnormal.

  5. 5

    Inspect the detecting circuit for any issues.

  6. 6

    Replace the outdoor main board if the error continues.
