E38 — High Pressure Over Low Protection

What does E38 mean?

This error indicates that the system's high pressure has been detected as abnormally low for 5 minutes. If this occurs 3 times in an hour, the failure will be confirmed as unresumable.

Common Causes

  • Insufficient refrigerant charge or a refrigerant leak.
  • Malfunction of expansion valve.
  • A faulty pressure sensor providing incorrect readings.
