Alert 432 (Flash Code 28) — OD Inverter DC Link High Voltage

Lennox · Communicating Systems

What does 432 mean?

The outdoor unit's inverter has detected a high DC link voltage, exceeding 480 VDC. If this condition occurs frequently, the system will lock out. The inverter LEDs will flash code 28 (Red: Two Flashes, Green: Eight Flashes).

Common Causes

  • DC link capacitor voltage greater than 480 VDC.
  • Loose wire connections at the inverter or compressor.
  • Compressor winding resistance out of range or ground issue.
  • Input power out of range.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Check wire connections (U, V, W) at the inverter plug and compressor.

  2. 2

Check compressor winding resistance and for ground issues.

  3. 3

Verify input power is within the acceptable range (208/230VAC +10%).

  4. 4

Check DC Link voltage and MICOM Sensing voltage. If out of range, replace the inverter; otherwise, suspect a mechanical compressor issue.

  5. 5

Disconnect power to the outdoor unit and restart to clear the alert.
