Alert Code 436 — High heat-sink temperature

What does 436 mean?

The inverter's heat sink has become too hot. The system will stop the compressor and fan to prevent damage. If this happens five times within an hour, the system will lock out.

Common Causes

  • Inverter heat sink temperature exceeded limit
  • Loose heat sink screws
  • Poor contact between components

    Wait five minutes after powering off for capacitors to discharge safely.

    Ensure screws securing the heat sink to the inverter control board are tight.

  3. 3

    If the issue was moderate, it may clear automatically. For critical issues, disconnect and reconnect power to the outdoor unit.
