Error 23 — Compressor drive module temperature too high

What does 23 mean?

The compressor drive module is overheating. This is detected by a sensor on the module's heat sink. Causes include refrigerant overcharge or a blocked coil.

Common Causes

  • Overcharge of refrigerant
  • Excessively plugged outdoor coil
  • IPM sensor open or shorted
  • Non-condensable gas in system
