What does Normal operating sounds mean?

Certain sounds like clicking, creaking, flowing, or blowing are normal during operation. These are usually due to the movement of internal parts or the flow of refrigerant.

Common Causes

  • A clicking sound can be heard when the unit starts or stops due to movement of the reversing valve.
  • Creaking sound: The plastic parts of the indoor unit creak when they shrink or expand due to sudden temperature changes.
