Adjust the load

'Adjust the load' lights up after programme cancelled — Drum empty or laundry too dry

Miele · Tumble Dryers

What does Adjust the load mean?

The message 'Adjust the load' appears on the display, and the drying programme is cancelled. This occurs if the drum contains very little laundry or if the items are already sufficiently dry, causing the dryer to stop prematurely.

Common Causes

  • The dryer drum is empty or contains an insufficient load for the selected programme.
  • The laundry items placed in the dryer are already dry or have a very low moisture content.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Open the dryer door and then close it securely again to attempt resuming the drying programme.

  2. 2

For very small loads or individual items, select the 'Warm air' timed drying programme instead.

  3. 3

Ensure there is a suitable amount of laundry in the drum for the chosen drying programme.
