5106 - Ambient thermistor (TH7) open/short

What does 5106 mean?

An open or short circuit has been detected in the ambient thermistor (TH7), which measures the outdoor air temperature. This will cause the air conditioning system to automatically stop operating. This error code may be related to delay code 1221.

Common Causes

  • Faulty ambient thermistor (TH7).
  • Loose thermistor connection.
  • Damaged wiring to the thermistor.

    Note the 5106 code displayed on your remote controller or the outdoor unit's LED.

  2. 2

    Turn off the main power supply to the outdoor unit at the circuit breaker.

  3. 3

    Wait at least 1 minute after LED1 and LED2 on the outdoor circuit board go out, then turn the main power supply back on.

  4. 4

    If the error persists, contact a qualified service technician to inspect and test the ambient thermistor.
