MA communication error - Remote controller signal issue

Mitsubishi Electric · PUMY Air Conditioners

What does 6831, 6834 (E0/E4), 6832, 6833 (E3/E5) mean?

This indicates a problem with the communication between the remote controller and the indoor unit, or between indoor units. This can be a failure to send or receive signals, preventing proper operation of the air conditioner.

Common Causes

  • Contact failure of remote controller wirings or irregular wiring (length, number of connected units, thickness not meeting specifications).
  • Malfunction of the remote controller's sending/receiving circuit or the indoor controller board.
  • Remote controller transmitting error caused by external noise interference.
  • More than one remote controller incorrectly set as the main controller.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Turn OFF the air conditioner's power supply before performing any checks or disconnections.

  2. 2

Check that only one remote controller is configured as the "main" controller; if necessary, set one as main and others as sub.

  3. 3

Disconnect and then reconnect the CN3A connector on the indoor unit controller board, then restore power.

  4. 4

After power-on, wait up to 6 minutes for "Please Wait" to disappear and "OK" to display on all remote controllers.

  5. 5

If the error persists or "NG" is displayed after diagnosis, an external noise source might be interfering; inspect the transmission line wiring for interference.

  6. 6

If LED2 on the indoor unit is blinking and the issue remains, the indoor controller board may need replacement by a service technician.
