Remote control display troubles

Remote control display issues or unresponsiveness — Microcomputer needs reset or batteries are low

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries · Packaged Air Conditioners

What does Remote control display troubles mean?

If the remote control's display shows unusual behavior, fades away, or does not show anything, or if the unit does not receive signals, it may indicate an issue with the microcomputer or exhausted batteries.

Common Causes

  • Microcomputer malfunction or temporary glitch.
  • Exhausted or low batteries in the wireless remote control.
  • Radio interference (less common, but a setting is available).

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

For display troubles (wired remote control), press the ACL switch with a ballpoint pen or similar pointed object to reset the microcomputer.

  2. 2

For wireless remote controls, replace old batteries with new R03 (AAA) x2 batteries, paying attention to polarity.

  3. 3

After replacing batteries, adjust the current time on the remote control.

  4. 4

If the display fades or shows nothing, replace the batteries immediately.

  5. 5

If the unit still does not display reception when a signal is transmitted, try resetting the microcomputer with the ACL switch after changing batteries, or consider the 'Radio Interference Prevention Setting' if applicable and reset it if batteries were removed.
