F96 — IPM overheating prevention

What does F96 mean?

The IPM temperature has reached 120°C, causing the compressor to stop. If this happens 4 times within 20 minutes, the Timer LED will blink, and F96 will be indicated.

Common Causes

  • Overheating of the IPM (Intelligent Power Module)
  • Poor ventilation to the outdoor unit
  • Electrical issues with the IPM

    Check that the unit is operating within its recommended ambient temperature range.

    Turn off the unit and let it cool.
