The printer displays a 'Cover open' status or error, preventing it from operating. This usually means one of the printer's access covers is not fully shut or a sensor is malfunctioning.

Ensure all printer covers (front, side, rear, top) are firmly and completely closed.
Open and re-close each cover, making sure to hear a click or feel it seat properly.
Inspect the cover levers and the area around the cover sensors for any obstructions or damage.
Turn the printer off and on again to clear the error.
If the error persists after checking all covers, a sensor might be faulty and require service.
