Ice Does Not Dispense

Ice Does Not Dispense — Jammed ice or water issue

Samsung · Refrigerator

What does Ice Does Not Dispense mean?

No ice is coming out of the dispenser. This can be due to jammed ice, an improperly inserted ice bucket, or issues with the water supply.

Common Causes

  • Ice may jam if the ice dispenser is not used for a long time (approx. 3 weeks).
  • Ice bucket is not properly inserted.
  • Water line is not connected properly or water supply is not on.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

If not using the Refrigerator for a long time, empty the ice bucket and turn off the ice maker to prevent clumping.

  2. 2

Make sure the ice bucket is properly inserted. If it doesn't fit, turn the helix screw 90 degrees and try again.

  3. 3

Check if the water line is installed correctly and if the water line stop cock is closed.

  4. 4

If the ice is clumped, remove and empty the ice bucket to allow it to refill with fresh, loose ice cubes.
