Samsung · Refrigerators
After the Refrigerator has been disconnected from power and then reconnected, the display shows '88 88' with 'RF DEF sensor' flashing. This directly indicates a problem with the Refrigerator defrost sensor.
Click steps to track your progress.
Unplug the Refrigerator from the wall outlet and wait 5-10 minutes, then plug it back in to reset.
The defrost sensor is located behind the back panel in the freezer or Refrigerator section; access it by carefully removing the panel.
Inspect the sensor and its connections for any visible damage or signs of corrosion.
If the sensor appears faulty or damaged, it will need to be replaced by a qualified technician.
