Continuous beeping

Continuous beeping with left interior light off — Door alarm or light fault

Samsung · Refrigerators

What does Continuous beeping mean?

The Refrigerator makes a continuous beeping sound, similar to a door-open alarm, even when the door is closed. The interior left light is off and only switches on after unplugging and replugging the Refrigerator.

Common Causes

  • Door not sealing properly
  • Faulty door switch for the left door
  • Faulty interior light or light switch
  • Control board issue

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Check that both Refrigerator doors are fully closed and not obstructed by any items.

  2. 2

Inspect the door seals (gaskets) for any gaps, damage, or debris that might prevent a complete seal.

  3. 3

Unplug the Refrigerator from the wall outlet for 5 minutes, then plug it back in to reset the system.

  4. 4

Manually press the door switches (usually located in the frame) to see if the light comes on and the beeping stops; a faulty switch may not be registering.
