Siemens · IQ-400 Access Control Systems

What does IQ-400 not responsive mean?

The Siemens IQ-400 panel is not communicating with the PC software. This can be caused by power issues, incorrect system identification, or problems with the communication cables.

Common Causes

  • Red DC Power Indicator LED (D2) is OFF, indicating no power.
  • The ID number set on the IQ-400 does not match the PC settings (SW1 switches).
  • Communication cabling (RS232/MODEM/RS485/Terminal Server) is faulty or incorrectly connected.
  • Temporary system glitch requiring a reset.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Verify that the red DC Power Indicator LED (D2) on the IQ-400 is ON. If off, check power supply connections.

  2. 2

  3. 3

Inspect all communication cabling (RS232/MODEM/RS485/Terminal Server) for proper connection and integrity.
