9005

Event 9005 — Changing of grid parameters not possible / Ensure DC supply

SMA · Sunny Boy Inverters

What does 9005 mean?

Grid parameters cannot be changed. This can be due to protected parameters or insufficient DC voltage for the inverter's main processing unit.

Common Causes

  • Parameters are protected and require the SMA Grid Guard code.
  • Insufficient DC voltage at the inverter's input (below start voltage).

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Enter the correct SMA Grid Guard code in the inverter user interface to unlock protected parameters.

  2. 2

Ensure there is sufficient DC start voltage available at the inverter (the green LED should be flashing, pulsing, or glowing).

  3. 3

Check the solar panels and connections for issues that might prevent adequate DC voltage.

  4. 4

Verify that the DC load-break switch is in the 'I' (on) position.
