Ground Current - RCD — Ground current surge detected

SolarEdge · Inverters

What does 76, 77, 90 mean?

The inverter's internal hardware detected significantly high ground currents, possibly due to insufficient insulation to the ground. This is a safety concern.

Common Causes

  • Insufficient insulation to ground
  • Ground fault in the system
  • Faulty RCD sensor

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Turn the inverter's ON/OFF switch to OFF.

  2. 2

Wait five minutes for internal capacitors to discharge.

  3. 3

    Disconnect the AC breaker.

  4. 4

    Disconnect the DC inputs.

  5. 5

Reconnect DC strings one by one, turning the inverter ON after each connection, to identify the faulty string.

  6. 6

Do not connect strings with a ground fault to the inverter. A certified installer must fix it.
