AC Freq Too Low (Line 1/2/3) — Grid frequency below limit

SolarEdge · Inverters

What does 82/83/84 mean?

The frequency of the AC power from the grid is lower than the allowed limit for your country. This can prevent the inverter from operating correctly.

Common Causes

  • Low grid frequency
  • Grid operator issues
  • Incorrect country setting

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

    1. **Restart Your Inverter**: Locate the AC disconnect switch (usually near your inverter) and the DC disconnect switch (often on the inverter itself). Turn off the AC switch first, then the DC switch. Wait 5 minutes, then turn the DC switch back on, followed by the AC switch.

  2. 2

    2. **Check Breakers**: Go to your home's main electrical panel and check for any tripped circuit breakers related to your solar system. Flip any tripped breaker completely off and then back on.

  3. 3

    3. **Check Inverter Lights/App**: Observe the LED indicator lights on your inverter for any specific patterns or colors. If your inverter has a display, check for additional messages. Also, open your SolarEdge monitoring app for any further details or status updates.

  4. 4

    4. **Call a Professional**: If the error doesn't clear after these steps, or if you suspect a broader power issue in your area, contact your solar installer, a qualified electrician, or your utility company.
