What does One (1) red blink mean?

One red blink means the Wall Connector detected an unsafe current path, causing a ground fault circuit interruption (GFCI) and disabling charging. This is a safety measure.

Common Causes

  • Damage or water ingress in the handle, cable, Wall Connector, or vehicle charge port
  • Ground directly connected to a conductor wire in the branch circuit
  • Residual current fault detected

    Inspect the charge handle, cable, Wall Connector, and vehicle charge port for any visible damage or signs of water entry.

    If a fault occurred within 10 seconds of starting to charge, press the button on the charging handle to attempt to reset.

    Alternatively, remove the charging handle from the vehicle and reinsert it.

  4. 4

    Have a qualified electrician check that the ground is not directly connected to a conductor wire in the branch circuit.

    If the issue persists, contact Tesla for repairs or modification.
