    Close the gas meter isolator device or the main isolator device, and if possible, the gas stop cock on the unit.

    Warn other occupants by knocking, leave the building immediately, and ensure no third parties enter.

    Alert the police and fire brigade when outside the building, then inform the gas supply company or National Grid Transco (0800 111999).
