Viessmann · Vitodens 200 Boilers
The boiler display shows dashes instead of coding values (e.g., "000---") and system addresses (000:, 0B8:) are not displayed when trying to access coding level 2. This suggests a wiring or communication problem with accessories or the programming unit.
Click steps to track your progress.
Check all external wiring and ensure accessories like LLH, DHW, and outdoor sensors (specifically X6.1/6.2) are properly installed and wired.
Ensure no room thermostat is connected to terminals X6.1 and X6.2, as this is a common mistake.
Turn the boiler off and on a few times, verifying the VR20 board is properly installed with good contacts.
Verify the proper installation of the programming unit console onto the boiler.
If electromagnetic interference is suspected, consider using a remote wall-mount base for the programming unit wired into X6.1 and X6.2.
If the problem persists, replacement of the entire programming unit console may be necessary.
