Electronic Crossover® ignition system fails to ignite — No spark or click from igniter

Weber · Spirit Grills

What does Electronic igniter fails mean?

If the electronic ignition system does not produce a spark or clicking sound when the button is pressed, or fails to light the burners, the problem is likely with the ignition system components.

Common Causes

  • Dead or weak AA battery
  • Plastic wrap not removed from a new battery
  • Igniter wires improperly attached to the igniter module
  • Igniter wires not connected to the igniter button terminals
  • Ceramic igniter assembly not fully inserted into burner tube igniter channel
  • Faulty igniter button
