F5E1 — Lid Switch Fault - Lid Is Up

What does F5E1 mean?

This fault is displayed if the washer detects the lid is in a locked state, but the lid switch is open, meaning the control does not sense the strike in the lid lock. It can also occur if the user presses START with the lid open.

Common Causes

  • User attempted to start cycle with the lid open.
  • Lid switch is faulty or not opening/closing properly.
  • Main control board cannot detect the lid switch status.

    Ensure the lid is completely closed and latched firmly before pressing START.

    Check for any obstructions around the lid or lid lock mechanism preventing full closure.

    Unplug the washer for 30 seconds and plug it back in to reset the control.
