Washer Won't Fill — No water enters the tub

What does Won't Fill mean?

When a wash cycle starts, no water or an insufficient amount of water flows into the washer tub, preventing the cycle from properly beginning or completing.

• No water supplied to the washer (e.g., house water supply is off).
• Hot and cold water supply valves to the washer are closed.
• Plugged filter screens in the water inlet valve or hoses.
• Improper drain hose installation causing siphoning.
• Problem with the water inlet valve or main control board.

   Check that the hot and cold water supply hoses are properly connected to the washer and that their respective supply valves at the wall are fully open.

   Inspect the small filter screens located where the water hoses connect to the back of the washer; clean them if they are clogged.

   Ensure the drain hose is installed correctly, not pushed too far down the standpipe, which can cause water to drain out as it fills (siphoning).

   If the washer still won't fill, contact a qualified technician for further inspection of the water valve or controls.
