Slow Blink

Connection Status indicator blinking slowly – Connected to router but not to Internet

Whirlpool · Dryers

What does Slow Blink mean?

The Connection Status indicator blinks slowly but never becomes solidly lit, meaning the dryer is successfully connected to your WiFi router but cannot establish a connection to the Internet.

Common Causes

  • Incorrect router settings (NAT, Firewall, DHCP)
  • Unsupported WiFi password cryptography type
  • Internet Service Provider (ISP) restrictions on MAC addresses

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Check your router settings to ensure NAT is enabled and Firewall and DHCP are properly configured; refer to your router manual.

  2. 2

Verify your WiFi password cryptography type; the dryer supports WEP, WPA, and WPA2.

  3. 3

Contact your Internet Service Provider if they restrict the number of MAC addresses that can connect to the Internet and ask about connecting a new device like a dryer.

  4. 4

Locate the dryer's MAC address in the Live menu (Setting menu > Live menu > MAC item) if your ISP requires it.
