What does AF mean?

The 'AF' diagnostic code signifies restricted airflow, which can be caused by a clogged lint screen, a blocked or damaged vent system, or a vent that is improperly installed. The dryer will continue to run, but efficiency will be reduced.

Common Causes

  • Clogged lint screen.
  • Crushed or kinked vent run from dryer to wall.
  • Lint and debris in the vent run from dryer to wall.
  • Clogged exterior vent exhaust hood.
  • Vent system exceeds recommended length or number of elbows.
