Thermistor/OWI Shorted — Short circuit in temperature sensing

What does Thermistor/OWI Shorted mean?

A 'Shorted' fault means there is an unintended electrical path in the temperature sensing circuit. This could be due to a faulty sensor, wiring, or the incoming water being too hot.

• Incoming water temperature above 167°F (75°C)
• Shorted connection or component in the temperature sensing circuit
• Shorted or faulty temperature sensor (thermistor/OWI)
• Faulty control board input for temperature sensor
