Whirlpool · Washing Machines

What does WASH LED ON mean?

The washer detects a 'no fill' or 'long fill' condition, meaning the water level is not changing or is taking too long to reach the required level.

Common Causes

  • Water supply not connected or turned on.
  • Low water pressure or plugged hose screens.
  • Water siphoning out of the drain hose.
  • Pinched, kinked, plugged, or leaking air in the pressure hose connection.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Check if the water supply to both hot and cold faucets is connected and fully turned on.

  2. 2

Ensure the water supply hoses are unobstructed and their screens are not plugged with debris.

  3. 3

Verify that the drain hose is correctly installed and not siphoning water. It should not be more than 4.5 inches (114 mm) into the drain pipe and have an air gap.
