Washer Won't Drain – Water remaining in the tub

What does WON'T DRAIN mean?

The washer is unable to drain water from the tub after a cycle. This can lead to excessively wet clothes and incomplete wash cycles.

• Improper drain hose installation (inserted too far or sealed).
• Plugged or obstructed drain hose.
• Obstructions in the tub sump or basket.
• Issues with the drain pump or its harness connections.
• Excessive suds from too much or wrong detergent.
• Main control problem.
• Load is tangling.

   Check the drain hose installation; ensure it's not inserted more than 4.5 inches (114 mm) into the drain pipe and has an air gap.

   Inspect the drain hose and the tub sump (under the agitator plate) for any obstructions.

   Verify that HE detergent is being used and that the correct amount is dispensed to avoid oversuds.

   Ensure the washer is loaded properly to prevent tangling.
