Carrier · Air Conditioners & Heat Pumps

What does 32-15 / 32-55 mean?

The system has detected low suction pressure, exceeding its soft or hard limits, leading to a shutdown (32-15). Four occurrences of 32-15 result in a 2-hour lockout (32-55). The system will attempt to restart after a 5-minute delay.

Common Causes

  • Stuck or faulty TXV/EXV (expansion valve).
  • No or insufficient airflow across the indoor evaporator coil.
  • Low system refrigerant charge.
  • Low ambient temperatures increasing diagnostic sensitivity.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.
