Code 81-14 VFD System Fault - Unbalanced PFCM

What does 81-14 mean?

The current in the Power Factor Correction Module (PFCM) circuits is unbalanced, applicable to 4 and 5 ton models with multiple reactors. The VFD will shut down and attempt to restart.

Common Causes

  • Disconnected reactor.
  • Faulty reactor.
  • Internal VFD issue.

    Cycle power to the system by turning off the circuit breaker for 30 seconds and then turning it back on.

    Observe if the fault clears and the system resumes normal operation.
