What does AUXILIARY HEAT ACTIVE mean?

The system has automatically activated auxiliary electric heating. This occurs when outdoor temperatures are too low for the heat pump to efficiently warm your home, indicating normal operation in cold conditions. The red LED next to the HEAT button will also gradually pulse.

Common Causes

  • Outside temperature is too cold for the heat pump to effectively provide heat.
  • System automatically determined additional heating is required.
