Dry running — Pump is operating without liquid

What does Dry running mean?

This warning indicates that the pump is running without sufficient liquid in the system. Dry running can cause serious damage to the pump, including overheating and mechanical wear.

• Insufficient water supply to the pump.
• Closed inlet valve.
• Air trapped in the system (airlock).
• System leakage causing loss of prime.

   Immediately turn off the pump to prevent damage.

   Check the water supply to ensure there is enough liquid reaching the pump. Open any closed inlet valves.

   Vent the system to remove any trapped air, following the pump's priming procedure in the full manual.
