Wheel drive system defect

Wheel drive system defect — Problem with wheel motor or related components

husqvarna · Automower Technical Manual

What does Wheel drive system defect mean?

There is a defect in the wheel motor, control box, or the main cable harness affecting the drive system for a wheel.

Common Causes

  • The wheel motor is defective.
  • The control box is defective.
  • The main cable is damaged or defective.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Test the wheel motors in 'Tools - Test - Power and Motors – Wheel motors' (shortcut 5-2-1-1). Check free-wheeling at 50% and 100% force, and block wheels to check for 0 cm/second speed.

  2. 2

Rotate the wheel by hand to check resistance, then disconnect the motor cabling and rotate again. If it is easier to rotate now, the control box may be faulty. Replace the motor if defective.

  3. 3

Inspect the cable harness and connector for damage and repair or replace if necessary.
