Water Siphoning

Water siphoning out during wash program due to unvented drain

Miele · Dishwashers (G-Series)

What does Water Siphoning mean?

Water is siphoning out of the dishwasher during the wash program. This occurs because the drain hose is connected to a floor drain or a drain pipe less than 8 inches (20 cm) above the floor, and the drain system is not properly vented.

Common Causes

  • Drain hose connected to low-level drain without proper venting.
