What does Unpleasant odour mean?

The Washing Machine emits an unpleasant smell, which can be caused by the buildup of bacteria and residue over time, especially if high-temperature washes are not performed regularly. Leaving the door or detergent drawer closed after a wash can also contribute to this.

• Bacteria and unpleasant odours have built up because a wash programme above 60 °C has not been run for a long time.
• The door and the detergent dispenser drawer were left closed after washing, preventing them from drying out.

   Run the "Maintenance wash" programme using Miele machine cleaner or a universal powder detergent.

   After each wash, leave the Washing Machine door slightly ajar to allow the drum to dry and air out.

   Similarly, leave the detergent dispenser drawer slightly open after use to prevent moisture buildup and mould.
