What does 8-time blink (recall mode) mean?

When the outdoor unit failure mode recall function is active, the indoor unit's upper lamp blinks eight times, then stays OFF for 2.5 seconds. This indicates that the outdoor fan has stopped 3 times consecutively within 30 seconds after it initially started up.

  • Defective outdoor fan motor
  • Issue with the inverter P.C. board

    Ensure the failure mode recall function is active to observe the correct blinking pattern.

  2. 2

    Turn off the power supply to the air conditioner, wait a few minutes, then turn it back on to attempt a reset.

  3. 3

    A qualified technician will need to check the outdoor fan motor (refer to section 12-5. 'Check of outdoor fan motor').

  4. 4

    A qualified technician will also need to check the inverter P.C. board (refer to section 12-5. 'Check of inverter P.C. board').

  5. 5

    After troubleshooting, recall the failure mode again and press the EMERGENCY OPERATION switch to delete the memorized abnormal condition.

  6. 6

    Release the failure mode recall function by turning OFF and ON the power supply, or by pressing the RESET button on the remote controller.
