Auto Airflow Change

Airflow direction changes automatically, vane control disabled - Anti-condensation or defrosting

Mitsubishi Electric · MSZ-AP Air Conditioners

What does Auto Airflow Change mean?

The horizontal vane's direction automatically adjusts, and manual adjustment with the remote controller is temporarily unavailable. This happens to prevent water condensation or during a heating defrost cycle.

Common Causes

  • In COOL or DRY mode, if airflow blows downward for 0.5 to 1 hour, the direction automatically shifts upward to prevent condensation and dripping water.
  • In heating operation, if the airflow temperature is too low or defrosting is in progress, the horizontal vane automatically sets to a horizontal position.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

This is an automatic protective function of the unit; no user action is required.

  2. 2

Allow the unit to operate normally; manual vane control will become available again once conditions stabilize.

  3. 3

Do not attempt to force vane adjustments with the remote controller during this automatic control period.
