What does MAC-558/559 LED 1 0.5 sec interval, LED 2 OFF, LED 3 OFF mean?

On MAC-558/559 models, a rapid flash of only LED 1 (0.5 seconds) indicates that communication has failed with both the server/access point and the Heat Pump. This is a comprehensive communication failure.
