sensor fault BT10 — Brine in sensor not connected or defective

NIBE · Heat Pumps

What does 10 mean?

The BT10 sensor, which monitors brine inlet temperature, is either not connected or defective. If auto-control is selected, the GP2 pump will switch to manual speed. The system automatically resets when the sensor works correctly for 60 seconds, and GP2 returns to auto-control.

Common Causes

  • sensor not connected or has a loose connection.
  • Defective BT10 sensor unit.
  • Temporary communication issue with the sensor.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Allow the system a short period (e.g., 60 seconds) to attempt an automatic reset.

  2. 2

If the alarm persists, power cycle the Heat Pump at the main breaker.

  3. 3

Check the physical connections of the BT10 sensor for looseness or damage.

  4. 4

If the GP2 pump remains in manual speed or the alarm recurs, a service technician should investigate.
