E7 — Motor Failure

What does E7 mean?

The grill's motor, typically for the auger, is not operating. The grill will automatically run a shutdown procedure if it is hot.

Common Causes

  • Loose or disconnected electrical connection to the motor
  • Faulty motor component

    Allow the grill to complete its shutdown procedure and cool completely. Do not unplug or power off during shutdown.

    Once cooled, power off the grill and unplug it from the power source.

  3. 3

    Remove the rear access panel.

  4. 4

    Check the electrical connection on the motor and ensure the connector is securely joined.

  5. 5

    Reinstall the rear access panel.

  6. 6

    Plug in, power on the grill, and begin a cook to allow the controller to run diagnostics. If E7 persists, contact Customer Service for motor replacement.
