2 flashes

Blue LED 2 flashes — Network not connected, EMS bus is connected

Junkers · EMS Gateway

What does 2 flashes mean?

The blue LED on the Gateway blinks twice, then pauses, repeating the sequence. This indicates that the Gateway has successfully detected the EMS bus from your boiler, but it cannot establish a connection to your home's Wi-Fi or Ethernet network.

Common Causes

  • Wi-Fi network is not configured on the Gateway or the password is incorrect.
  • The Gateway is out of range of your Wi-Fi router or the signal is weak.
  • Ethernet cable is not connected or faulty (for Gateway E32 models).
  • Incorrect network settings (e.g., DHCP issues, static IP configuration).

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Ensure the Gateway is placed within good range of your Wi-Fi router.

  2. 2

Follow the steps in the manual to connect the Gateway to your home network, entering Wi-Fi credentials carefully.

  3. 3

If using an Ethernet connection, check that the RJ45 cable is securely plugged into both the Gateway and your router.

  4. 4

Power cycle your router and the Gateway, then attempt to connect again.
