What does Unpleasant Odor mean?

The washing machine emits an unpleasant odor. This is often caused by bacteria buildup if high-temperature programs are not run regularly, or if the door and detergent drawer are kept closed, preventing drying.

Common Causes

  •  indicator light and  on display were ignored (hygiene reminder)
  • A wash program using a Hot+ temperature has not been run for a long time
  • The door and detergent dispenser drawer were closed after washing, preventing them from drying

    Run the 'Sanitize' program using Miele Machine Cleaner or a universal powder detergent to clean the drum.

    After each wash, leave the washing machine door slightly open to allow the interior to dry.

  3. 3

    Leave the detergent dispenser drawer slightly open after use to ensure it dries out completely.
